Frankie's Not so Tough Surgery
As a lot of you know Frankie had his Tonsils out on Tuesday. I being the biggest wimp and a caring Mother I suppose, was a total baby for 2-3 days prior and that morning. Frankie on the other hand has been my support. I went out and bought new things that make him happy right now, like the spider man outfit you can see on his very favorite thing since he was brand new, his bear. A couple new movies with spongebob and what he calls the Musketeers, which is really Mickey Mouse and his friends, and lots of yummy food just for his what was suppose to be a terrible day.
Well Frankie was not so terrible in the end. As you can see he had the whole room totally figured out, where everything was, how to move the bed and how to take off that not so cute gown they put on the kids with characters that you and I remember from when we were kids. None the less when the Dr. came he let Frankie take him for a ride on the bed instead of them taking Frankie. Once they got to the big double doors that say STERILE on them Frankie gave the Dr. on the bed one big push and happily stayed behind the doors to wave and say bye, he was not about to go back there. Once the Dr. realized Frankie was not pushing him anymore and he was flying down the hall by himself he came back and swooped Frankie up and off they went.
After the nerve racking only 20 minute wait I was able to go see him in recovery. He was very cranky and very out of it but really wanted the I.V. out of his arm. Well they daon't let you leave or remove that thing until you drink something so after about 45 minutes and more demerol through the I.V. they decided to grant Frankies biggest wish and remove the I.V. in promise that he would drink his juice. He drank his juice within 10 minutes just like he promised once they took it off. By the time we could leave he was pretty much happy and did not want ot get dressed or be carried so he left the building on his own with no clothes but holding on tight to his best friend.
I was ready for a very relaxing and quite couple days of movie/cartoon time on my couch, even though the procedure wasn't that bad after all, thanks to my comedian of a child. We came home after picking up perscriptions and off to the couch we were. Spongebob played for a couple of hours and we took a nap. It most certainly was a power nap because when Frankie awoke my life was right back to normal. Running around, jumping from the furniture, boxing anyone that would box him, tearing through the cupboards and ready for more. I was amazed and a little disappointed for the sake of my relaxation. As of today (mind you only just over 24 hrs. later) all the clear liquids, besides the 7-up of course, the jell-o and the popsicles remain my fridge. But the cookies are gone and he is back to himself, Wild Man Frankie, we have already had bubbles all over the living room carpet, mod podge on the stairs and melted popsicles in the garage. I have to say all though I am back to aprenting a crazy one I am very thankful that things turnied out the way they did, like a piece of cake.
So this post is dedicated to all those Mothers who might have to one day go through a Tonsil and adnoidectomy. Don't get yourself too worked up for misery cause it just might not be that bad.
Sincerley, Marla

I know I know I am the first one to leave my own comment but I had to apologize for leaving such a long post. It's good though.
Did you really think a little surgery would slow him down? Come on now! He looks so cute in his hospital gown, I want to squeeze his little butt!
